Mangosteen Galore in the office

On my way back to the office I saw a stall selling mangosteen by the road side. I decided to stop and buy some, to satisfy my cravings.

Here is a short description of the purple mangosteen, it is a tropical evergreen tree believed to have originated in the Sunda Islands and the Moluccas of Indonesia. The tree grows from 7 to 25m (20 – 80ft) tall. The shell of the fruit, which is not edible is a deep reddish purple when it is ripe. The fragrant edible flesh that surrounds each seed is botanically endocarp. It is sweet and tangy, juicy and somewhat fibrous.

The flesh of the mangoesteen oxidize quickly too, just like apples and pears.
